With your help, Harmony House can continue to serve as an instrument of positive change for those who would otherwise remain impoverished and without hope. With your support, we can continue to fight poverty and its devastating impact. Our objective is to provide a brighter and better future for all of our children and their families.
Although we do have a team of wonderful, dedicated and passionate staff at Harmony House, we are always searching for committed volunteers who can offer new skills, experiences and compassion to our children.
Valued volunteers at Harmony House share their own skills with our women and children, from yoga, dance and music to sewing, cooking, photography, wellbeing, mentorship and much more. We rely heavily on volunteers to provide extra curricular opportunities to our children and community and we are extremely grateful to anyone who can share their time and skills with us. In addition to providing skill based learning we also require support with administration, legal and marketing services, so if you feel you are able to offer your time for a good cause please do get in touch.
There are online as well as offline volunteering experiences allowing you to volunteer from anywhere in the world.
Volunteering at Harmony House is a very enriching experience. It is sheer delight to work with our children but it is also a responsibility that should be taken very seriously. If you feel that you have the right qualities, experience and knowledge to join our team of volunteers, please contact us at: info@harmonyhouseindia.org

Birds eye view: Harmony House
After retirement, I had been teaching as a volunteer in an NGO at Gyan Devi Public School for three years. The founder of Harmony House (Ms. Lucy) and founding manager (Ms. Meghna) visited me there. Sat in my class and asked if I could join Harmony House.
I advised them that I could consider it after completing the academic year of my students. I switched over and for eight years I have taught in Harmony House. I’ve witnessed Harmony House grow holistically over the years. The students have multiplied – in addition we have waiting lists. Staff strength has increased. Meals and snacks are better organized, tastier. We now have Harmony House 1 and Harmony House 2. The result, laughter of girls from oppressed class. Our wards are becoming more disciplined, responsible, better educated and groomed, vocationally trained and them being pushed towards becoming better citizens. The endeavor continues.

Harmony House has provided me with the opportunity of social and self service.I consider myself fortunate to be available to children who, I hope, can improve better academically and in social interaction with my little insignificant guidance. It’s my second year here. I look forward to coming here everyday for these two hours in the afternoon. I am keen to help these children, with them it gives me immense pleasure.

Harmony House by my eyes
I first visited Harmony House to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The warmth of the kids and the welcoming nature of the staff at Harmony House made me visit there again . The talent and the will of the kids at Harmony House to achieve something made me take a decision of volunteering there and I got a chance to work with the kids. I work on developing the overall personality of the kids there. During my first class I realised that the kids were really shy but were ready to accept me as a volunteer there. It’s been a year that I am going to Harmony House to talk to the kids and council them. And every passing week I see kids getting more confident and more open to me. The staff there made me feel home, which gives a different level of enthusiasm in me to work for the kids more. All I can say is harmony house is not just an NGO, but a platform for the kids to work on making their dreams come true. It’s a place where actually hope resides and does wonders in making everyone better.

Volunteer work at Harmony House has been a wonderful and fulfilling experience since day one. As an early childhood educator, I immensely enjoy working with little children and bringing a difference in their lives. The support, love and encouragement from the staff and management has been splendid. The work been done by the organisation in the education sector, is worthy of praise. It’s an honour to be part of an organisation that provides quality education to children and is working hard to open doors for their future.

I have been involved with Harmony House for almost 2 years now, helping girls learn English over zoom. Honestly, every single time I joined the zoom call an immediate smile would cross my face when I saw these girls. My experience in Harmony House has been beyond words, it has truly been extraordinary. To see the girl’s English improve has been a journey in itself. The hospitality of all the staff has really welcomed me into Harmony House and the children that I have helped have brought me so much happiness. Their positive energy and enthusiasm really reflects on Harmony House, the entire experience has been so rewarding and I can not wait to continue.
I will never forget my visit to Harmony House in December 2019. Not only did I have the opportunity to play music to the children, I also got to teach maths and discovered how enthusiastic and eager to learn the children are Harmony House are! I also made friends as they were happy to have visitors and I promised to come back again and do some sports together!
My visit to Harmony House in December 2019 was so inspiring. What a fantastic platform it offers its children. I am certainly lucky to have been able to visit for a day and volunteer because I got to see what a happy and positive environment the children of Harmony House enjoy . Harmony House and its children is in my heart and I hope to volunteer there many times in the future.

“Giving is deeply rooted in our family history and grounded in the belief that we all exist for a much higher purpose. We are pleased that we could support Harmony House India through our fundraising initiative.
We decided to dedicate our 12th birthday to help raise funds from our family, friends and supporters for children who need it the most. We contacted Harmony House India, they supported our idea and within a week our initiative was active.
Our fundraiser for Harmony House India started at a time Covid-19 hit India hard, the children and their families would soon need life-saving support in the form of oxygen concentrators along with food supplies.
We shared information about Harmony House on our social media account (Instagram @heartmadedubai) and raised a total of AED 20,506 (INR 4 lakhs) for Harmony House India.
The impact of a well-balanced nutritious meal goes a long way, and kudos to the team at Harmony House for working tirelessly in ensuring that come what may, the children and their families will never go away hungry. They started a Care Package Distribution drive which has been life-saving for families specially during the pandemic, each package includes vital ingredients and hygiene supplies.
Proper education for everyone can eradicate many problems such as poverty, gender inequality and discrimination from its roots and would lead to a better country with higher standards of living. Harmony House understands the importance of education in India, we saw during the Covid-19 lockdown, how they went to great lengths to organise small classes on a daily basis with an online teacher so children do not miss out the necessary studies.
The sincerity and dedication of the team managing the two shelters is commendable, their hard work has made an outstanding impact in the lives of numerous children and their families. Harmony House is a ray of hope and happiness to many.
We are delighted to be a part of their journey and look forward to working with Harmony House on more projects in the future.”

Harmony House relies 100% on recommendations of support and we don’t allocate budgets for advertising as every rupee/penny/cent is spent directly on the development of our children and their families.
Our quest to apply for grants is an ongoing process as we continue to strive to serve our children to the best of our ability and to implement growth at every opportunity. Support in creating awareness, generating introductions at a corporate or personal level or actively seeking to contribute towards our cause is very much needed and welcome.
There are many ways that you can provide us with additional awareness campaigns and initiatives. Many individuals and organization’s have already found creative ways such as marathons, bake sales, community gatherings, neighborhood dances to name a few which have helped spread our message and generate new supporters.
With the Students Ambassador Scheme, Harmony House will have a way to expand the reach in the India through a student on your society.
